Cycling as a varsity
sport is entering its fourth year at Pfeiffer University
lead by Tommie Brock. Team Pfeiffer Cycling ended the
2008-2009 road racing season Winners of the ACCC
(Atlantic Coast Cycling Conference). They will begin the
new year as Conference Champions!
Coach Brock has been a USCF (United States Cycling
Federation) licensed bicycle racer for 29 years. He has
competed in over 786 bicycle races all over the United
States. He is in his 18th year as a licensed coach.
Coach Brock is a Level 2 USA Cycling Coach. His goal is
to build a strong racing program to compete in all
categories within the ACCC. From there the team will
race the National Bicycle Races after the Conference
Championships.
Coach Brock is a former United States Marine. He
graduated from Appalachian State in 1976 with a BS and
then a Masters in 1977. He taught public school for 30
years.
Coach Brock resides in Kannapolis with his wife Maureen,
a Tri-Athlete, Time Trialer, Marathon Runner and Massage
Therapist. They have three cats and four bicycles. The
newly married couple are expecting another bike this
year.
